Is Running Bad For Your Knees?

The simple answer is no!

Watch the video below for the reason why running is GOOD for your knees!

Some people believe that running can increase your chance of getting arthritis in your knees, however this is a very dated opinion and has since been disproved by research over the past 20 years.

Running has a protective effect on developing osteoarthritis, and can actually reduce your chances of having osteoarthritis in the knees. It should be said however that (like with everything else) you can have too much of a good thing, international and professional runners were found to have a slightly increased risk of developing osteoarthritis by 3% compared to the normal population. The recreational runner however has a decreased risk of developing osteoarthritis by 7% (Alentorn-Geli 2017)
